Hero Kids Foundation is seeking a $1,500 grant to support our NASA STEAM GLOBE Camp, a week-long immersive program designed to engage and inspire 120 students. This camp offers a unique blend of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) activities, leveraging NASA's educational resources to foster a passion for learning and innovation. Participants will engage in hands-on projects, collaborative problem-solving, and interactive lessons that highlight the interconnectedness of global ecosystems and the importance of environmental stewardship. By providing this enriching educational experience, the Camp aims to develop critical thinking, teamwork, and leadership skills among students, particularly those from the families of first responders and military personnel. The requested grant will help cover essential materials, instructional resources, and logistical support, ensuring that all participants have the opportunity to explore and expand their STEAM knowledge in a supportive and dynamic environment.

ABOUT YLACES

Youth Learning as Citizen Environmental Scientists assists and rewards the implementation of inquiry-based, experiential science education where students do science and contribute to the understanding of our environment through recognition and financial reward programs.

Grants range from equipment and supplies for taking environmental measurements to recognition and support for students presenting their research projects and working for pervasive inclusion of student research projects in science teaching.
